rainbow bridge remembrance day




The Rainbow Bridge Poem

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

My 5 Minute Life: Cleaning for Self Care

Cleaning for self care.... what?

I know, I know when you're feeling down the last thing on your mind is probably cleaning up. I know it's been that way for me.



I love Psychology Today because they link to real studies, here is a great post about The Powerful Psychology Behind Cleanliness.

My mom told me when I was younger that it's important to have one room in the house all put together. Whatever that room is for you is fine, a bathroom, a bedroom, it doesn't matter what room it is. What's important is keeping it in order. When you're feeling overwhelmed this is the room to go spend some time in.

I was chatting with one of our SL daughters about struggles and she said.... cleaning is kind of a form of self care.

All of these things lead me to realize how important keeping things tidy is connected to self care.

I'll help you out by providing some great ideas of getting started using My 5 minute life, throw some of these into you routine:

Kitchen

Wipe down appliance fronts
Clean oven burners
Clean stove top
Clean microwave
Clean coffee maker
Clean out one shelf or drawer in the fridge
Declutter condiments
Wipe out one drawer at a time in the kitchen
Clean your sink
Clean the dishwasher
Clean a small appliance
Declutter recipes and/or cookbooks

Bathroom

Declutter and wipe out one drawer at a time
Wash the shower curtain
Clean the mirror
Clean the counter top
Clean the sink
Clean the toilet all the way down to the floor - might take more than one 5 minute break
Wipe down the switch plates
Wipe down one shelf at a time
Clean the window
Clean the baseboards
Organize the linens one shelf at a time

Bedrooms

Declutter and organize one drawer at a time
Declutter and organize one shelf at a time
Wash mattress pads
Wash sheets
Fluff comforter in the dryer
Wash bedding
Clean the night stand
Dust lampshades
Vacuum or sweep 
Declutter closet 5 minutes at a time. 

When decluttering drawers, shelves and closets 

Donate items that are no longer useful, that you like or don't fit
I usually go through and get rid of everything I don't like first on my 5 minute break
The next thing I do is try on clothing I haven't worn in a while to see if I still like it
After that the rest gets organized. Organize by type (shirts, pants, skirts, etc.)

Make sure you wipe down drawers and shelves to get rid of dust
Do a quick vacuum or sweep of the floors in closets

Many times my entire day is doing what would be one task for someone else. Taking care of all of the tasks for the bed can take me the entire day. Don't get discourage with how long something will take you. You're going faster than you used to and that's all that matters.

My 5 Minute life is for anyone who is struggling. It's meant to help you break down your life 5 minutes at a time and get you up and moving more than you may be now.

My original back story for Second Life


Here is my original back story for Second Life.


My SL Start

I was given life in 1596 by a woman who does not deserve to be called mother. She was too busy whoring around to pay attention to me. I learned at an early age not to trust anyone, they will eventually hurt you.
At age 15 I was finally free of my mother and the men in her life who were nothing but dogs. I ran away only to meet the same as I roamed looking for a new life. I was unfortunately blessed at an early age and looked older than I really was but, that made it easy to get work at pubs. Serving others came naturally to me, I wanted to give, I wanted to believe that there were people somewhere that would see the good in me, I just wanted to be loved.


Turning Angel

At age 16 I found myself in a particularly dark pub working, not knowing it was full of vampires. I didn’t know much about vampires, all I knew is they were bad news. This was the first time I found myself the only human in a pub surrounded by them. They weren’t as bad as I had heard, loving and giving exactly what I was looking for. I had a King approach me and weave this beautiful picture that sounded magnificent and a dream. He said that I could have it all if I gave my soul to him.

I so desperately wanted love and my soul was already broken and so I gave it freely. I soon found out that it was not just my soul he wanted. I was once again a slave to love. I stood by him being his personal blood doll and even stood next to his Queen while they married. I wept inside knowing I would never be more to him than food and a warm bed.


My dad

I was working at another pub and knew that there was another vampire family who frequented it. This family seemed different than the one I was in. The people were nice and they were fun and laughed so much when they were at the pub that I longed for that, longing was a feeling I knew well. I knew that I had to get out of where I was but didn’t know how to do it.

There was one of the vampires that I had been working with and grew to trust him, the first male in a very long time. I came to him and told him of my situation and he was outraged. There was a great battle between him and the King over my soul. Amir said that he would not allow this King to keep me any longer and he brought me this potion. It had to be blue. I hate blue drinks. He said to me… drink it child, it will not take long. I drank the potion and it was like the lights of the sky lit up and I literally saw my soul flow to him. He then looked at me and said… You are my child now; you will be protected and loved for all eternity.


Daybreakers

Although there was great love in this family there was also turmoil as I found seems to exist everywhere. There was a great split in this family and my dad chose to take our family and leave. I didn’t want to go. This was the first time I had a family who I really felt loved and I didn’t want to leave it. After much debate and heartache he allowed me to follow my heart and stay where I felt loved. See, he loves me so much that he would give me that freedom. The first time someone didn’t walk away from me and the first time I finally stood up and said… this time I am going to stand strong for what I believe to be the right path for me in this life.

The family was never the same.


Meeting Evil

It was the winter of 1631, I turned 25 that I met a nice vampire who had become my friend and had taken me under his wing and started to guide me through this life. He loved me without judgment and he was so gentle with me but I learned there was a darker side to him. He was Evil, pure and simple. I saw his wrath come down on others with a fierceness I had never seen and yet he was not that way to me. His name fit him perfectly Evilheaven.


Turning fully

Spring of 1632 my friend Evil was attacked by a pack of Lycans in our encampment. I had been out gathering for our family when it happened. I searched through the bodies and finally found him. It was bad, very bad. I dropped to my knees and cried out louder than I had every cried before. But there was hope, I saw movement… I knew he had to almost drain me to live but I was willing to sacrifice my own life if it meant he would live. Once he started feeding I could feel the life force drain from me…I then realized my life as a human was about to be over but I didn’t care, my life didn’t mean much anyway. I struggled as it’s only natural to fight to live but then finally succumbed to the realization that I was about to die. Little did I know he wasn’t killing me, he was changing my life.


The Awakening

I woke up and the world I once knew was gone. I had senses that I never had before and a thirst for blood I couldn’t control but I was alive… sort of. Evil had survived his wounds too and healed amazingly fast but there seemed to be something different about him as well. It wasn’t until the full moon we knew why. The Lycan bites had changed him he was now half vampire and half Lycan. Bigger, stronger and faster than anyone I had ever known, Evil had become a hybrid he had became invincible.
As soon as I was strong enough, Evil traveled to my old lands to find my father and ask for my soul. I was very afraid of what my father would say as I loved Evil but knew that my father vowed to never allow another to hurt me. It was a tense time as the two men talked but finally my father saw that Evil was a good man and would protect me. I remember my father telling Evil that if he ever hurt me that he would hunt him down and not only take my soul back but he would make sure that Evil was destroyed in the process.


Hybrid

It was then that my true service began. After the wars there were people in need of guidance, love and family. Because of what we had been through up to this point, we vowed to bring honor back to all of the land and all of the races.

We set out to build the family we never had and to guide, teach and love all who were in need.
It was a few years later that I came to Evil and asked him to turn me completely into a Hybrid.

Looking back on what I saw he had gone through, I knew it would not be easy but I also knew that the only way to become strong and to be able to fulfill my destiny in life, I had to be a Hybrid….

Get to know me

Hey there!

I wanted to share with you a few things in hopes that it helps you get to know me a bit better.


I am, first and foremost, a wife and mom.
Evil and I met in January of 2011 in Second Life.
We were officially dating February 13, 2011, both in SL and IRL
We were married in Second Life on August 2, 2011
Evil moved from his midwestern state to the west coast to be with me IRL August 20, 2011
August of 2012, we moved across the country to the east coast so that Evil could be near his kids.
August 2014 Evil got custody of his kids due to his ex-wife passing away from cancer
March of 2015, we moved back across the country to the west coast again so that I could be near my kids, and that's where we are currently.

As you can see, both of us value having our kids near.



I am a Queen in both worlds. Being a queen to me means having the King's back and helping care for the Kingdom. We are inactive in Bloodlines in SL but would like to change that. Our Bloodlines Family is Invictus Sanguine Horde. IRL I am a pretty good momager of our home.


We used to be called Hybrids, but now we're called VaeWolves. I am usually in my Vampire form, but if needed....my Wolfie has no problem coming out to play.


I'm a crazy cat lady in both SL and IRL. In IRL I spent time in cat rescue, in SL I have a whole lot of them and hope to be able to be back to breeding them at some point. I have plans to use the proceeds to help those who are raising funds for animal rescue in SL.


I started to DJ when I owned my own club back in the day. I love to DJ. My favorite music genre is Alternative Rock.


I build simple things right now but slowly learning about other things I can create. I mostly love to modify things I buy, especially buildings and landscape items.


I have a bigger homesteader heart than I do skills at this time, but it's a journey of learning. I'm focusing my homesteading efforts on edible and medicinal herbs and plants. The regular gardening stuff may come eventually. We have a large strawberry patch, blackberries, and a yard full of flowers that can be foraged, such as Purple Dead Nettles and Dandelions.

I'm going to be partnering with one of my Sistas who I get my doTerra oils from to learn about making salves, ointments, rollerballs, and so much more. Combine these with the plants that I want to grow, and we'll have some excellent self-care products too, such as bath bombs, soaks, and scrubs.


I love love love to build communities and help others to brainstorm ideas on how to build theirs. This is something that I find fun to do, and I'm excited about the brands I'm slowly building in Second Life to do precisely that.
